Our New Homestead

The first thing we had to do was find a new piece of property for our homestead and our community.  We found the right property for us the very first day we looked.  In fact, it was the first property we looked at!

Before we started working on it:

Enter our new homestead!

Here's the gate at the entrance to our new homestead.

Rough Road!

The road was pretty rough going when we first looked at the place.

More rough road.

There's a half-mile of private drive.

Walking down the hill.

First order of business was camping out.

Drone & T came to put in fencelines & camped out while working on fences for livestock.

They worked on the fencelines for about 3 weeks.

Cookin out

The built a fire ring, gathered up firewood, and cooked meals outside.

A load of work.

Part of the fencing supplies.

More work.

This is just a fraction of the tee-posts that eventually went in.

Marking for dozer.

They also marked out all the property lines and for the dozer to push in home sites.

Blazer in front of shop.

I came to visit them at the base camp, and the Blazer broke down!
